Sorry Excuse - Demo

Sorry Excuse - Demo (2008)

This is an awesome straight edge hardcore band from Kansas City, Missouri. I remember checked them out when the demo first came out, but it hadn't really clicked hard until I recently saw this band at Force Fed's last show earlier this summer. It's fast and pissed and has a shit ton of influence. Everything from early Madball to Youth Of Today to Poison Idea. Definitely one of my favorite current bands going. Check out the demo. Enjoy.

Confront - Payday

Confront - Payday (1991)

Late 80's Cleveland hardcore. If you're a fan of Youth Of Today, Judge, Brotherhood, and SSD then this is the record for you. Harder sounding pissed off youth crew style. It's a great fucking record. Also, if you didn't know this band is pre-One Life Crew. That may or may not effect your drive to get this album if you don't have it. If you're a fan of any of the bands I compared Confront to, you'll love this record. Enjoy.

Brink - The Demo Strikes Back

Brink - The Demo Strikes Back (2010)

This Michigan comes back with a revised version of the demo with much better quality. It's tighter and even has a couple new songs added it. This has a strong Lockin Out feel in the vain of bands like Mental, Stop & Think, and Jaguarz. If you have the old demo, definitely get this one! If you don't have the old demo, well, get this one anyway! Enjoy.

Billingsgate - Reach Out

Billingsgate - Reach Out (1990)

Chicago area hardcore band whose guitar player, Erik Funk, went on later be in the band Dillinger Four. This record is pretty cool. I'd say it has a harder youth crew/nyhc feel compared to the LP they released a year later. I prefer this because its more raw in my opinion. If you're into bands like Confront, Youth Of Today or most of the stuff I post in this blog, you'll be into this band/record. Enjoy.

Billingsgate - No Apologies

Billingsgate - No Apologies (1991)

I believe this band was from Chicago. This is their LP released on Nemesis records. Think Outspoken and Verbal Assault with a bit of NYHC influence I'd say. This record is pretty good so if you're into the above mentioned bands, check it out! Enjoy.

Injustice System - Spoken Word

Injustice System - Spoken Word (2010)

Injustice System or Inj/Sys for short are a hardcore band from Tampa, FL. I assume their name comes from the Sick Of It All song. I hear a bit of SOIA influence mixed with earlier NYHC and Boston hardcore. Basically it sounds like it came out in 1982. I'm into it so check it out! Enjoy.

Seeker - Demo

Seeker - Demo (2008)

This is easily one of my favorite current bands, even considering I have not yet seen them. They are from Texas and bring an awesome mix of influence. 3 that come to mind to me almost instantly are Bad Brains, Inside Out (Rev), Burn, and Beyond. The guitar work is very good and the music as a whole gives me somewhat of a spiritual feel, which I can always get down with. Seriously don't sleep on this demo if you've never heard this band, especially because they have an EP in the works. Enjoy.

Thick Skin - Bottom Feeder Demo

Thick Skin - Bottom Feeder Demo (2010)

This band hails from Australia. They are fast, pissed, straight edge, and draw influence from a lot of good bands. It reminds me of older Boston bands mixed with more recent bands like Step Forward, Stop & Think, or Righteous Jams. It's a pretty awesome sound and this demo is a great first impression on this band. Get this right now! Enjoy.
